Built here, one town at a time.

Salento is the southern tip of Puglia, the heel of Italy, with the Adriatic on one side and the Ionian on the other. Two hours end to end. Baroque towns in white limestone, olive country between them, and villages where Griko, a Greek dialect, is still spoken.

Online, the region is thin. Most of what you can find sits on booking sites that have never sent anyone here, ranking places by commission and repeating the same dozen names. The workshops, the kitchens and the smaller towns barely appear at all, and almost nothing is written in English.

So we are writing it down ourselves. Every house and every business on this site has been visited, and we have met the people behind it. Nobody pays to be listed and nobody pays to rank higher. If a place is here, it is because we would send a friend to it.

We started in Tricase and are working outward across the peninsula, town by town. That is slower than filling a database, and it is the only way we can stand behind what is here. The site is run from Specchia, in the Province of Lecce, by Casa Camilla. You book with the owner directly, and you never pay us a fee.
