Not just a booking office. Salento itself.
We live in Salento and we know it town by town. We find the houses worth staying in, match them to the way you travel, and arrange the stay with you, from the first message to the keys.

From a first message to the keys
Tell us about the trip
Where you are thinking of, roughly when, who is coming and how you like to travel. A message, a call or the villa finder: a few lines are enough.
We search Salento ourselves, and come back with a shortlist
We know Salento town by town. We put forward the few houses we would send a friend to, matched to your brief, with what we know about the place around them. Not a catalogue of everything.
We settle the details
Dates, questions and the practical side are settled with us, together with the people who own the house. We stay in the conversation until you are there.
You book with us
Once the house is right, we confirm the dates and take care of the booking with you. You get the full price for the stay before you commit to anything.
- Cover the whole territory: the 96 towns of Salento and both coasts, not a handful of resorts.
- Visit every house before it goes on the site, and know the owner by name.
- Match the house to the way you want to travel, not the other way round.
- Take care of the booking and answer personally, from Salento.
- Share the tables, workshops and quiet corners worth knowing once you are there.
- Send you to a call centre: a person in Salento answers.
- Put a house on the site we have not visited.
- Rank anyone for money: nobody pays to be listed or to appear higher.
- List everything: if a house would not make a friend’s shortlist, it is not here.
How a house gets on the list
Every house is checked before it goes in, and the list stays deliberately small. Each one passed the same four questions.
The house has to be worth the trip
Architecture, setting and light first. A pool alone is not a reason.
The people behind it
An owner or host who knows the region and answers like a person, not a desk.
Honest photographs
What you see on the page is the house as it stands, shot in its own light.
A town we know
Every house sits in a town of Salento we can talk about: where to eat, when to go, what to skip. Open the town under Destinations and ask.
Good to know
Is Salento a booking site?
Not just. Salento is the territory's own address, run by people who live in Salento. We write down the houses, the towns and the people of the territory, and when a house fits the way you travel we arrange the stay with you, from the first message to the keys.
What does Salento cover?
The whole territory: the 96 towns of Salento and both coasts, not a handful of resorts. The houses come first and the collection stays small on purpose. Around them we are writing down the kitchens, the makers and the places worth the drive, town by town.
Who do I book with?
With us. Once the house is right, the dates, the rental agreement, the payment schedule and the deposit are arranged with Salento, and we settle the practical side with the owner for you.
Does it cost anything to use Salento?
Sending a request or asking about a town costs nothing. Tell us your dates and who is travelling and you get the full price for the stay before you commit to anything.
How quickly will I hear back?
A request reaches us in Salento, and a person answers within one business day. We check your dates with the owner before anything is confirmed, so sending a request never commits you to a booking.
Why do some villas show “price on request”?
Some owners set their rates per enquiry, by season and by party size, rather than publishing a single figure. Tell us your dates and who is travelling and we will come back with the full pricing and availability.
Can I ask about a town, not a house?
Yes. Open any town under Destinations and use Ask us about it. Where to base yourself, when to come, where to eat: we live here, and that is the question we like most.
Something we have not answered?
